So the Fire TV Stick 4K costs about $39.99, if I currently have not paid for any online streaming services and have no plans to, what can I get for free with Fire Stick TV?

Basically, how the Fire TV Stick works, is by providing a platform which can hold streaming apps such as Netflix. This article is going to show you 5 Free Apps that can be used on your Fire TV Stick and provide you the reviews from thousands of other users. To see the reviews for yourself, click on the names of each app!

Number 1: Youtube

I'm sure we all know about this mega-platform, and it sure wouldn't be a surprise to see this on top of this article. On Amazon, Youtube has had 1.1 million downloads, with 79% of the people who use it rating it 5 stars. It does seem like Youtube runs pretty well on the Fire TV Stick. So it definitely is a must-have for your list of Free Apps to use when you first set-up your Fire Stick!

Note: This is different from the Youtube TV app, which is Youtube's version of a paid streaming service. You can check it out if you are interested for premium content but for this article we are going to focus only on the free stuff :)

Number 2: Spotify

Okay so this is not a video streaming application, however, we felt that it is a must have especially for those who love to play music from their audio system which is already set-up to the TV. If you aren't already a paying subscriber for Spotify, you can use it for free if you are ok with some limitations. Firstly, there will be advertisements between tracks (that's how Spotify earn from free users on their platform). Furthermore, for free users, there will be some limitations on the specific tracks that you want to listen, for example, you only can skip up to 6 tracks every hour. To learn more about these limitations, check out this article here.

Number 3: Pluto TV

Now this is a gem that is also available on the Fire Stick platform. Pluto TV has been offering free TV streaming since 2014 and since then, its content has bloomed and flourished. From live networks with news and sports, to on-demand content such as movies, Pluto TV is as close to Cable TV as you can get for a free service! On Amazon, the app has a sizable number of 450,000 ratings, out of which, 65% of users thinks its a 5-Star app.

Well, many of the lower ratings were actually given due to the excessive amount of advertisements, which honestly really depends on your own tolerance. Especially for a free service, we think that it would be pretty reasonable for the advertisements to be there for the developers to be able to continue! One more drawback, perhaps would be that on-demand content would include more older movies rather than the new ones. Still a worth-it download in our opinion!

Number 4: The CW

Another streaming service that is totally free. The CW is only available in the US, and certain live TV channels are available only in certain regions. Other than live TV, they also have a large range of serials such as Supergirl and The Flash! Once again, as it is a free service, expect to see some advertisements. With a 130,000 downloads on Amazon, 64% of users have rated this app to be 5 Stars! Poorer reviews also included the quality of available shows and also lag time? However, there are always bound to be glitches in all products and we think that with the 70% good reviews, it is worth a download too!

Number 5: IMDb TV

Last but not least, the IMDb TV app is also an ad-supported free streaming service. Currently only available in the US, this Amazon-owned service provides a range of movies, TV series, and documentaries. The application itself is relatively new on Amazon, only available in 2021, with about 1000+ reviews. Out of the current reviews, 66% of users gave a 5-Star rating with 15% giving 4-stars. Due to its short history however, there were almost no reviews which talked about its usability on the Fire Stick... Except for one guy who apparently said that the UI is pretty bad. Well, for the content that IMDb has, and it being free, why not try it for yourself. If it works, great! We think that the IMDb TV app is one of the best free movie apps for firestick.

That's all we have for you today! Top 5 Free Apps that users enjoy on the Fire TV platform. There are many other apps that are available and feel free to check them out in our upcoming posts this year!

Does the Fire Stick seem more worth it with these free apps? Well, check this review out and maybe get one for yourself!
