Well, for us, this is a minor user experience difference which should be insignificant to most people. Especially if, this is the major difference between a "budget" version of an excellent streaming device.

Size

The Fire Stick Lite is also slightly smaller than the other Fire sticks. Yes, it is only shorter by a little bit, while the depth and width is exactly the same. Not much of a plus or minus here!

Overall, we feel that the Fire Stick Lite is not really a subpar version of the other Fire Sticks. Apart from the remote differences, there really isn't much difference in your streaming experience. In fact, there is no difference in the output resolution supported which is up to 1080p, 60fps.
